Services

I have a strong responsibility to see the gardens I create or existing gardens I care for, flourish and be at their best, whilst meeting the clients’ wishes and adding to the biodiversity of the place.

I like to maintain the garden throughout the entire year, tending to its specific needs and requirements for each season. I do this on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.

2. Garden Design

I can redesign your entire garden, update or revamp it with new plants or transplant existing plants. Garden styling by adding pots, ornaments, furniture, lighting and sculptures can also add to a garden’s new look.

With my artistic eye and horticultural knowledge sometimes all it takes to transform your garden is a hedger to shape some shrubs, loppers to lift the canopy of a tree and shears to thin out plants, allowing plants to shine, complement each other and create layers in the garden.

The principles of design being, form, colour, proportion, harmony, and texture are always fundamental in the aesthetics of my work. I also consider with my plant selection a garden that offers something interesting in every season.

If you require a more extensive design, then I can produce a concept plan which involves the following process.

Design Phase:

I would visit your garden and gather as much information. I would find out what your requirements for the garden are, favorite colours, styles, themes, plants, views and budget you have in mind.

A survey of the garden is then required to take accurate measurements, boundaries, existing plants, soil type, a Site analysis, aspect and conditions.

Following the initial visit and site assessment I then produce a concept plan based on your brief.

The Concept plan contains a scaled plan, elevations, selected plants and materials. The plan is drawn in 2d and 3d cad program.

Construction phase:

I manage the construction phase ensuring that the project delivers the final design finish that both myself and the client specified. I love to do all the soft landscaping, setting out the plants, sourcing them, planting and mulching.

With hard landscaping I like to select the landscapers and other trades, working with qualified experienced landscapers and stone masons on all aspects of the structural landscaping.

Once the project is complete, I set up a maintenance program and when possible, maintain the garden myself.

Let’s work together!
